Modern Control Pressures
Rats and mice have always consumed and contaminated food, spread disease and damaged buildings and equipment.
While rodent infestations have traditionally been controlled when they reach troublesome levels, today’s health, hygiene and safety
standards make effective and verifiable year-round rodent control increasingly important.
In the food industry, indeed, premises can fail inspections if even a single dead mouse is found.
The need to guard against contaminating food with rodenticides and protect non-target animals is placing growing constraints on how and where they can be used.
As a result, baiting is becoming ever-more cautious, with rodenticides used more sparingly and in progressively more secure baiting containers.
Valuable though this may be for food, pet and environmental safety, it places serious constraints on effective rodent control.
