Least Visibility

Another important consideration in bird work is minimising the visibility of installations.

Black nets are, surprisingly, the least visible against most buildings, particularly when fitted so the square mesh runs vertically and horizontally, and with neatly installed and aligned low profile fixings. Within the obvious constraint of effectiveness against the bird species involved, larger mesh nets are more discreet than smaller ones.

Stainless steel spikes are far less visible than plastic ones because they do not reflect sunlight and attract far less dirt, continuing to remain tidy and unobtrusive over an extended period. Low profile bases should be specified to reduce visibility from the ground, with translucent plastic blending well into most building surfaces.

As well as being incredibly versatile in protecting a range of structures against all bird species, low profile electric systems also have the advantage of being virtually invisible from the ground. Small charging units sited discreetly and connected to the conductors with lead-out wires add to their low visibility value.

Being extremely thin, bird wire is virtually invisible from the ground and often specified by architects. Neat installation will further reduce any visual impact.
